30 Days of Books Challenge
Day 29, 30 August 2011 – A book everyone hated but you liked
Ugh, what? :D Is there such a book that everyone hates? :P All books have their fans and haters alike, so there can't really be a book that "everyone hates," right? Nudge nudge Twilight.
Fine. For books that a lot of people in my social circle don't really like to read-- The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss. Or any romances for that matter. I'm sure a lot of Woodiwiss fans and romance lovers will be killing me after this, but remember, I said I liked the books! The Woodiwiss books are all purple prose, you know, the kind that makes you reach for your blue pencil and start crossing out adjectives. Except that I started reading them back in my teens, and well, I did like the story, purple prose and all. *dodges shoes being hurled by friends.* Guys, guys, look at it this way, it is a classic and a landmark one at that!
