Once again, I turn to rereading old friends. In this case, I felt a hankering to revisit the town of Crozet, Virginia, and my old friend Harry Haristeen and her wonderful pets, Mrs. Murphy, Pewter, and Tee Tucker.
Ever since I found "Rest in Pieces" in a second-hand bookstore years ago, I've been trying to collect all the Mrs. Murphy books. They reside in my "never to lend, never for sale" collection. I wish someday I could visit the real Crozet, but I guess emulating Rita Mae Brown and setting a story in the place I love best in the world would be the next best thing. Dreaming, dreaming.
So, my teaser for today is from "The Tail of the Tip-off," another book from Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown's Mrs. Murphy series. And yes, Sneaky Pie still insists she is really the one who wrote the book all by herself.
"'I can quote.' Harry grinned.
'This I've got to hear.' H.H. squared his mail, tapping it on the counter.
'Between two evils I choose the one I haven't tried before. Mae West.'"

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
