This Tuesday, I felt like rereading some of my old friends, so I pulled out one of my favorite books ever. The Washington Post once called it "the feminist answer to Raiders of the Lost Ark." I wouldn't go quite that far, but I admit to thinking, when The Da Vinci Code first came out, that it was like one of the other books by the author of this one. LOL.
Love chess? Love adventure? Love chasing after lost treasures? Then you might just love this book... this copy is the third I've bought so far because the first two got borrowed and never made it back. Well, I've learned my lesson... I'm not lending this copy to anyone. Not even if they beg for it.
Katherine Neville's The Eight contains two stories, two quests for the same thing. How do they tie together? That is up to the reader to discover.
My teaser for today:
Finally she opened her eyes and looked at the dawn, then at me.
"They call it Zugzwang," she gasped. "My God--- we did it."

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I loved this book!!!! I want to learn chess now. Here is mine
That must be quite a good book if you are on your 3rd copy. I am going to have to check it out. I found the summary and the teaser very intriguing.
