Because I love cats, I ended up collecting books about cats or featuring cats. Among them, Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown's Mrs. Murphy series. What makes this series different from others? Not only are the animal characters more intelligent and communicative than their human friends know, but according to Rita Mae, her cat Sneaky Pie, who looks an awful lot like Mrs. Murphy, is the one who really writes the stories, because "it takes a cat to write the purrfect mystery." And won't I just love to have a kitty named Sneaky Pie? The name's... purrfect!
My latest find from the Mrs. Murphy books is The Purrfect Murder, whence comes our teaser for today.
"She's such a nice girl."
"Nice girls can do terrible things."
-p. 262, The Purrfect Murder, by Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Very interesting teaser. I haven't read any of these books, but hear good things about them.
Nice girls can do terrible things... fun teaser! Thanks for posting.
