Although I wasn't able to write a post in time to enter the You're The 1, Goldilocks contest sponsored by Nuffnang, I was lucky enough to get an invite to the awards night. So Friday afternoon my best friend Eva and I excitedly headed for Top Shelf, Fully Booked on Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City. Thanks to my friend Kel aka Mistervader for the invite!

The first thing that greeted us when we got there was a Decorate Your Own Cake activity. I'm partial to ocean themes myself, but since Eva is mad about anything that looks like Tweety, I let her choose the barnyard decor which has a yellow chick (the chicken, not something else) in it and we made that into the centerpiece for the cake, then wrote our names around it. The resultant cake wouldn't have won any prizes, but we agreed we couldn't remember anything else we did before that was that much fun! Then we went to get our photo taken with the cake (and I'll post that here as soon as I find it, although I suspect she took it home to show people, LOL).

The guest of honor, none other than Dingdong Dantes, arrived soon afterwards to announce the winners and to give out the prizes for the bloggers contest... several mini-notebooks that had me saying dang! I wish I'd entered! Anyway, the winners were all very deserving, from the doctor who often received Goldilocks mamon from patients that couldn't afford his fees, to the traveler who got asked about Goldilocks goodies by the customs man at the airport in America who missed them, to the daughter whose dad forgot almost everything but Goldilocks mamon, to the grieving mom to whom Goldilocks cakes brings back memories of her lost son on the last birthday she saw him alive. Congratulations to my plurk friends Mauie Flores and Noemi Lardizabal-Dado for the last two winning entries!

When Eva and I got home that night, we shared our cake with our other roommate, Joan, who had her own photos taken with it! We didn't get to eat it until after a long time though... because we ended up having a food fight in our room and ran around smearing icing on one another. I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard. That small cake lasted a long long time, like the Biblical bread and fishes, because both girls also took part of it home to share with their families this weekend. All I can think of is that such a small thing could bring so much joy. Yes, you're the one talaga, Goldilocks. And note: Since the three of us share the same zodiac sign and often choose one day to celebrate our birthdays at the same time, we've agreed to decorate our own cake this year... from Goldilocks. I guess I ended up writing a belated Goldilocks post anyway, LOL!
