Just taking some time off of my lunch break to post this, folks. Got a book to copy-edit. XD

When I came to the fifth and last book of the Percy Jackson series, I actually felt sad. I didn't want the series to end just yet, leaving all our characters (the ones still left alive, that is) at age sixteen, the peak of their adolescence. Yet somehow, part of me thinks that sixteen is a good place to leave them, if we have to leave them. Like many of our best-loved characters in books, like Peter Pan and Princess Sarah and Little Lord Fauntleroy, they will never age. Another part of me, though, wants Percy and Annabeth and Grover and Rachel and all the others to finish growing up, to see the kind of men and women they will turn out to be. In the end though, the decision ultimately rests in the author's hands.

I wouldn't say no to another five books though :P Anyway, our teaser for today is taken from "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian" by Rick Riordan. I couldn't help but think this is one moment I'd want to see on film, if they got the comic timing right.

"You cannot imprison me!" he bellowed. "I am Hyperion! I am-"
The bark closed over his face.
Grover took his pipes from his mouth. "You are a very nice maple tree."

-p. 226 of "Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian" by Rick Riordan

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

    I'm not reading your teaser only because we're working through the series right now and I don't want to spoil anything. Even for a tiny teaser. I'm reading Blue Food Revolution.
