I've been struggling with my NaNoWriMo entry for a while now and realize just how much solitude and time to write is important to a writer. Every time I thought I'd get some time to concentrate on what I'm supposed to be writing, things get in the way, like a sudden crisis at work and my sister dropping in for her annual visit.
I'm trying to write a Young Adult book, so I've been reading more YA books recently. When sis and I went on a whirlwind shopping expedition on Sunday, I found the opportunity to slip into Booksale and pick up a couple of books that looked interesting. One of them was Edgar Award winner "The Killer's Cousin," by Nancy Werlin, whence comes our teaser for today.
"There was no laughter in that house. Only shadows, humming, and silence."
-p. 100, "The Killer's Cousin," by Nancy Werlin
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Adding this to my wish list!
