Today's book is actually a re-read... I kind of missed it, so I thought I'd make it my lunchtime book this week.
Yes, this is another oldie but a goodie. Yes, it's the same Mary Stewart who wrote that Merlin Series. I liked them, but I also like her romantic thrillers, like this book whence today's teaser comes.
This actually is one of my very favorite books. If I had a list of romantic dreamboats, Raoul de Valmy would be on it, LOL. I first read it when I was still a student, and my copy is quite, quite ragged.
He loomed over me, tall and formidable looking in the misty moonlight. Tall, dark and handsome... the romantic cliche repeated itself in my head -- so automatically and irresistibly that I braced myself to dislike him on sight.
- p. 78, Nine Coaches Waiting by Mary Stewart
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Hullo, Laya! Feeling senti / romantic / in-love? Hehehe. Reminds me of a particular Barbara Cartland book that had me daydreaming. LOL.
I haven't known about this particular book but I am adding this now in my wishlist. You got me there with the teasers. Thanks. :)
Sharing you with my teasers.
