What? Tuesday again? /facepalms/
I haven't had the opportunity to browse my favorite bookstores lately... too much to do. Fortunately for me, I have a roommate who remembers me whenever she has the opportunity to drop by Booksale.
*phone beeps*
Roommate: I'm in Booksale, I just found a Trixie Belden, Mystery of the Memorial Day Fire. Do you have it already?
Me: No.
Roommate: Ok then. Am holding three Rita Mae Browns, Wish You Were Here, Sour Puss, and Puss N Cahoots.
Me: I don't have Sour Puss.
Roommate: Ok, getting them then.
Aren't friends grand?
Thus we come to today's teaser. I'll make this quick. The edition my roommate got me was hardcover, but it was also large-type, and my eyes are still adjusting. LOL. Anyway, today's teaser is from Sour Puss by Rita Mae Brown. Ohaithar, Mrs. Murphy, Pewter, and Tee Tucker, I missed you. I can't help but put two teasers from this book this time. I just love them.
"Pewter slunk out from behind the cross. 'I am innocent.'
'That's what they all say.' Fair laughed as though he understood Pewter's meow."
-p. 12, "Sour Puss" by Rita Mae Brown, Large Type Edition
"Early the next morning after protracted good-byes, Professor Forland drove off in his Scion car, down the long, winding driveway, all paved, and out the main gate. He turned right, passed Keelona Farm as he headed towards Carter's Bridge. Then he simply vanished."
-p. 92, "Sour Puss" by Rita Mae Brown, Large Type Edition
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My love of mysteries began with Trixie Belden. I do enjoy Rita Mae Brown's novels. Excellent teaser. My TT: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/04/teaser-tuesdays-skin-and-bones.html
I tried that series but it didn't work for me. I too read Trixie Belden as a kid. My teaser is from The Light Fantastic.
Oh mysterious disappearance and a claim to innocence, both sound intriguing, both great teasers.
Intriguing teaser!

I think I read one or two out of this series but didn't get too into it. Glad you got the book though. You do have an amazing roommate. My teaser and contest link is here

I remember the Trixie Belden books! I was looking at some of them a few weeks ago at a book fair. Such fun.
My teaser is here.
Fun teasers! I have read several of the Mrs. Murphy mysteries, but Sour Puss doesn't sound familiar. Adding that to my TBR list now! :)
