I have lately developed quite a taste for fiction featuring real people or well-loved characters. LOL. Hence my tendency to collect Carole Nelson Douglas's Irene Adler books and, more recently, Stephanie Barron's Jane Austen mysteries.
People who read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" might also be interested to know that Stephanie Barron has a mystery series which has for its lead character the great author of Pride and Prejudice herself. I've taken this week's teaser from the fourth book in the series, "Jane and the Genius of the Place" by Stephanie Barron, which I found in a bookstore last weekend.
"Her countenance --which in easier moments might well have been judged lovely-- was contorted with rage, and she held a whip poised in her right hand. A gentleman stood calmly at her carriage mount, as tho' braced for the issue of her fury; and as I watched, the whip lashed down with a stinging sigh upon his very neck."

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
