How many stories can you create out of just one premise?
According to today's book, quite a lot.
Mercedes Lackey wrote a song that ended with a choice. Her friends so liked it that they proposed their own endings... and this book was born. Suffice it to say it concerns two wizards, a village in dire need of a wizard, a ghostly lover, unfinished business, and Lammas Night (July 31 or thereabouts).
"He was just there, in the night. And still there, come morning, though he was nothing seen or heard."
-p. 117, "A Choice of Many" by Mark A. Garland, from In Celebration of Lammas Night created by Mercedes Lackey, edited by Josepha Sherman
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Interesting teaser! I'm not familiar with this one, although I've read other books by Mercedes Lackey (she does write an awful lot) :)
That quote sort of gave me some shivers as I wrote it. Beautiful and it flowed in a creepy wonderful way.
