Sigh. When you're sentenced by the doctor to home rest and no strenuous activity, nothing much to do except eat, read, and fall asleep reading. Thank goodness for TBR piles.
Today's book was an impulse buy; the impulse turned out to be pretty good, I think. It said on the cover that it was the winner of the 1998 St. Martin's Malice Domestic Award, and I'm certainly finding out why. This book has been getting a lot of chuckles out of me so far, and once I finish it, I'm going back and rereading it, slower this time. It's lots of fun. Now, if only laughing didn't make my tummy hurt, life would be perfect.
Our teaser for today is from Murder, With Peacocks by Donna Andrews. It involves a female blacksmith trying to juggle being maid of honor (and wedding planner by default) at three weddings (her best friend's, her brother's, and her mom's) while fending off several would-be suitors she doesn't like and trying to cope with a crush on a gorgeous hunk who's rumored to be gay. And yes, there is of course a murder or two to add to the mess. Desperately seeking more from this author now.
Damn him, he was fighting back a grin. "The corsets, particularly, require a lot of rather intimate details."
"Corsets? In July? Eileen's off the hook. I'm killing Samantha first," I said.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
