Due to Dramabeans' recaps, I finally began watching Sungkyunkwan Scandal. It is at present my late-night viewing pleasure, and I am loving it more and more. Although the Dramabeans supergals have produced such great recaps, actually watching the drama is something else again... the tilt of Yong-Ha's head and the quirk of his eyebrows, Jae-Shin's laser stare, Seon-Joon's conversion from stodgy to heart-stealer, and Yoon-Shik/Yoon-Hee's cuteness. The drama has been called the "Joseon F4"; well, except that all four characters have been more sharply delineated than the ones in Meteor Garden and Boys Over Flowers  [don't get me wrong, Dao Ming Zi and Gu Jun-Pyo, I still love you both], and San Cai / Jandi has become one of the guys. XD

I wondered at first whether the drama has already been shown here in the Philippines. Since it aired August to November 2010, however, perhaps local TV stations haven't thought of getting it yet. That, and the drama title could be mistaken for a bootleg porn film, which would have the Church up in arms. A pity, too, as the themes in SKKS would be sure to strike a chord in many Filipinos-- the value of education, women's rights, public service, the role of government, good citizenship, heroism, and changing the world. I'd think GMA-7 would pick it up since they're fond of dramas with those themes, but I wouldn't be averse to ABS-CBN doing so because of the extent of their coverage nationwide.

Anyway, if you're like me and you want to know how a drama ends before you watch it, I'm linking Dramabeans' recaps for you to enjoy. Otherwise...

**Spoiler Alert**

Note: Sungkyunkwan Scandal was recognized at the 2010 KBS Drama Awards for the following:

Excellence Award, Novella Drama - Actress (Park Min Young as Kim Yoon Hee / Kim Yoon Shik)
Newcomer Actor Award (Micky Yoochun as Lee Seon Joon)
Popularity Award (Song Joong Ki as Gu Yong Ha) (I agree with this, he is such a scene-stealer! I love, love, love Gu Yong Ha.)
Netizens' Award (Park Min Young and Micky Yoochun)
Best Couple Award (Park Min Young and Micky Yoochun)
Best Couple Award (Song Joong Ki as Gu Yong Ha and Yoo Ah In as Moon Jae Shin) (OMG, Bromance!)
