This author's books = my equivalent of comfort food. In all of her incarnations. It is said of her that she is "a writer so popular that the public library has to keep her books under lock and key." I fully agree. I never lend out my copies of her books because I'd never get them back!
Anyway, today's teaser is from an oldie but a goodie [yes, I'm rereading my old books again]. Let me just say one thing: My favorite character here is still Ramses Emerson. Always and forever. <3 :P
I seized Abu's knife and prepared to cut the cloth away. The crowd, which resembled nothing so much as an assortment of laundry bags fallen haphazardly from the back of a cart, squirmed closer, and the same commentator remarked, "It is the Sitt Hakim. No doubt she will cut off the man's arm," to which his companion replied eagerly, "Lean back so that I may see better."

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
sounds interesting! You can find mine at The Bookish Snob Happy Reading!
Sounds pretty gruesome!
Stopping by from TT. We have 3 this week! Here's our link: http://ourstack.blogspot.com/2011/03/teaser-tuesday-bird-house-wanted.html
